This virtual workshop, hosted by CFE in partnership with Tyne and Eden Rivers Trusts, will look at the role grassland management can play in improving soil health, the benefits to the farmer & how this fits with a catchment approach to natural flood management (NFM).

  • Niels Corfield, an independent advisor in grassland management, will discuss the measures farmers can take to improve water infiltration rates and the economic, as well as practical, benefits to the farm business.
  • Eden Rivers Trust will give us examples of how they are working with farmers to improve pasture management, such as providing communal sward lifters.
  • Tyne Rivers Trust will provide an overview of NFM and how pasture management fits into the bigger picture.
