Get ready for the Big Farmland Bird Count with CFE West Midlands, Neil Harris from Kings and Paul Hopwood from the West Midlands Ringing Group.

A not-to-be-missed opportunity for close-up bird ID with the West Midlands Ringing Group and guidance on providing summer and winter food and nesting habitat for birds on farm.

An excellent chance to find out how to grow winter and summer food and nesting habitat for birds on your farm.

The farm walk will include advice on:

  • Bird identification: looking at birds captured during the morning by West Midlands Ringing Group and getting prepared for the Big Farmland Bird Count
  • The different seed mixes available; get tips to meet the challenge of growing them well to provide bird cover and food throughout the year.
  • How these mixtures can be used on EFA land and in the Countryside Stewardship Wild Pollinator and Farm Wildlife Package

Lunch will be provided after the farm walk.
