This event will look at the role grassland has in capturing carbon, enhancing biodiversity and how we can make more from grass within farm rotations.

Come along to hear about:

  • The role of grassland in capturing carbon and how we manage our grasslands to protect and build it - Dr Julia Cooper, Newcastle University
  • The biodiversity potential of grasslands and herbal leys in the arable rotation - Paul Muto, senior specialist in grassland agronomy at Natural England
  • Update on grants available through Countryside Stewardship, Catchment Sensitive Farming.
After a free lunch there will be a farm walk by kind permission of the Stephenson family.
