Join Championing the Farmed Environment for an evening of talks and discussions focusing on how farms can prepare to meet the challenge of climate change.

Wednesday June 24th - 7-8pm via Zoom

The last two years have given farmers a taste of the typical weather patterns we may face in the future. Extended periods of heavy rain followed by severe drought make life tough for livestock and arable farmers alike.

  • What can farmers do to prepare their farms and businesses for a situation where these weather extremes could become the norm?

  • What is the likely financial and environmental impact of drought, flooding and hotter summers? How can these financial risks be mitigated for?

  • What approaches can make soils, crops and livestock more able to withstand these climatic changes?

We hear from farmers and a farm business consultant about their strategies for increasing resilience and how they are adapting their farms and businesses to meet this challenge.
