Farmers care for the land they farm and know that a healthy environment is essential for sustainable farming.

The Campaign for the Farmed Environment aims to pull together the huge amount of work that farmers and land managers already do to encourage wildlife, to benefit soil and water resources and support farmland birds.CFE encourages voluntary management that will benefit the environment, whilst ensuring efficient and profitable food production.

CFE is a true partnership approach, supported by many organisations committed to both agriculture and the environment. Partners include AHDB, AIC, AICC, CAAV, CLA, DEFRA, EA, GWCT, LEAF, NE, NFU, RSPB, TFA, The Wildlife Trusts and Water UK. CFE delivery is also supported by BASIS, Bumblebee Conservation Trust, The FWAG Association, British Grassland Association, Hedgelink and the Rivers Trusts/CaBA.

The partners recognise the importance of managing the farmed environment. CFE collaborates with other voluntary industry-led initiatives (Greenhouse Gas Action Plan, Tried & Tested and The Voluntary Initiative) to demonstrate how the industry collectively takes responsibility for achieving environmental benefit alongside profitable farming.

CFE was established in 2009, details on the Campaign's history can be found here.

On the Resources page are the reports that outline what has been achieved since the launch of the Campaign, the current CFE Delivery Plan and the results of the annual government Survey of Land Under Environmental Management.
