Making the most of your manures - Cheshire

You are invite to join CFE for a morning of presentations at Bickley Barn (Cheshire Wildlife Trust) followed by a farm walk at Park Farm, Cholmondeley Estate 

Using nutrients efficiently and managing manures well can help you get the best performance from your crops, grass and livestock and reduce water and air pollution.

Please meet at Bickley Barn at the Cheshire Wildlife Trust, Bickley Hall Farm, Bickley, Malpas. Cheshire SY14 8EF. The farm walk will be at Park Farm, Cholmondeley Estate, Cholmondeley, Malpas, SY14 8HN, by kind permission of Andrew Latham.

Topics will include:

  • Planning manure and fertiliser use, and the free tools available to help

  • Handling and storing manures and slurries to reduce losses to water and air including a demonstration of a trailing shoe applicator

  • Why reducing ammonia emissions from grassland farms matters

  • Countryside Stewardship grants for yard and farm infrastructure improvements.
