Making the Most of EFAs in 2018 - Berkshire

Last updated: 24 Oct 2017

To get the latest guidance on changes to Greening and managing EFA options without pesticides or herbicides, join CFE for an event on 7th December at Coppid Farming Enterprises, Dunsden by kind permission of Simon Beddows, sponsored by Kings and Syngenta

January 2018 is not far away. Have you decided how you will manage your Ecological Focus Areas without plant protection products and make best use of this land?

Without plant protection products, nitrogen fixing crops will be more challenging to grow. Now is the time to review your options for 2018 and decide how you will meet your EFA requirements: if a grower has more than 15ha of arable land, 5% of the area must be allocated to EFA features. The ban on PPP on fallow land comes into force on 1 January 2018.
