Future Proof your Farming - Walpole, Suffolk

Pick up some ideas and management tips to protect soil and water quality on this free CFE farm walk and workshop, organised in conjunction with Catchment Sensitive Farming.

Please meet at 1.30pm at The Pavillion, Peasenhall Road, Walpole, Halesworth IP19 9BG. There will also be walk at Hillhouse Farm, Walpole.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Retaining environmental measures on unproductive land – benefits in water quality and crop yield

  • Buffer strips and yard improvements – ensuring water and chemicals can co-exist

  • Cover crops – their role in protecting water quality

  • CFE measures – support pollinators and farmland birds through voluntary measures and EFAs

Speakers will include Brenda Williamson (CFE/Suffolk FWAG), Jo Haywood (Catchment Sensitive Farming) and Edwin Van Ek (Woodland Trust).
