Register for the CFE’s YFC competition at LAMMA

17 Jan 2012
Young farmer members are being urged to play their part in supporting the CFE by registering for their competition at this year’s LAMMA event.

The competition challenges teams of YFC members to develop a suitable proposal for a farm business of their choice, currently outside of any agri-environment schemes, to support the Campaign and explain how their proposals will work. The competition hopes to increase the knowledge of environmental management by the younger rural generation and was launched in December by Agriculture and Food Minister Jim Paice.

James Williams, NFYFC Chairman, said: ‘We’ve had a really good relationship with the Campaign so far and this competition is an excellent way of strengthening that whilst giving members the opportunity to compete – something young farmers always love to do! There are some fantastic prizes on offer and I really hope members enter the competition as it’s a brilliant opportunity to prove their credentials as forward thinking future farmers.

Any young farmers visiting the show should take advantage of the CFE stand to find out more about the competition and enter there and then!’

Young farmers should visit the CFE’s stand (number 803) in hall 8 to register. Advisors will also be on hand to offer more information about the campaign and how farms can support it.
